Romans 12:1, 2 begins with-“I beseech you therefore brethren, by the mercies of God”, the reason for the mention of the word therefore is in Romans 11:33-35, where we read that-“O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! For by him and for him are all things created that are in heaven and that are in earth .Such a great God, saved us who were facing the wrath of god which was upon us. We were thrown out of god’s presence because of the sin Adam made and we being his descendants were supposed to face the wrath of the god in the form of judgement. But God through his compassion ,sacrificed his only son ,Lord Jesus Christ as a sacrifice for the sake of our sins on the cross of Calvary.

My lord, My master who is worthy of all everlasting praises expects us to present our bodies as a living sacrifice which is holy, acceptable unto god ,which means that we should dedicate our bodies to his service until our last breath. We should lead a life that is in accordance with his will and how it pleases him. If we lead our day to day life such that we would give him the first place in our lives and lead a holy and separated life, it brings glory to our god and as it says in Isaiah 53:11-“he shall see of the travail of his soul and shall be satisfied ”- which means our lord will be happy with our lives.as it says in romans 12:2-“and be not conformed to this world”-if we live in the way god expects us we will not conform to the worlds standards or live in worldly manner. As it says in 2 Corinthians 5:17-“come out from among them and be ye separate”-we should separate ourselves and live a life focusing on the things above and not on the things of earth.
